“Queens of Duluth”
Documentary SHort
“Queens of Duluth” is an 11-minute documentary exploring the lives of drag performers in Duluth, Minnesota. Through interviews filmed both in and out of drag, the film highlights the artistry, passion, and personal stories behind local drag culture. Performers share how they discovered drag, what it means to them, and the pieces that define their drag identity.
Filmed in performers’ homes and during live performances at The Flame Nightclub, the documentary contrasts their everyday lives with their onstage personas. I served as the project lead and edited the entire film, collaborating with a team of four to capture interviews and performances. This film was shown at the Minnesota Student Film Festival in Duluth, Minnesota.
